Now I'm back on the scene and have TUG (my beloved 3.2S) back, I thought it appropriate to say that this book kept me smiling over the past 2 years getting my house sorted and saving back up to get TUG back so once again would like to thank all involved in creating an extraordinary special book.

Kind Regards

Russell

Agree, it was an excellent meeting, and the book is really nice.

I looked through it only 3-4 weeks ago, and yesterday we ordered a stay at Dunkeld House for our pre-Christmas-family-trip to Scotland. The car will unfortunately be an Vauxhall Astra (or similar, as the rental companies say...), but we will do some of the Ed Abbott rally loop on our way to Dunkeld to show our 'kids' the place.

Thanks for the kind words, Russell!

Good that Simon and I didn't know how much work it was when we started the project, but in my unhumble opinion it's been worth every drop of sweat we put into it. ;)

This is a good excuse to repeat something I've shared before: without the XJ40 community this book would have never happened...
Without the members & staff of this forum, the Dunkeld attendees, JEC, JDHT, and individuals like Ann & Howard Hunt, Ed Abbott, Paul Skilleter AND the book's buyers we wouldn't have been able to pull this off!

Fantadtic, that will be a fabulous trip and really hope you enjoy it :) I work for Vauxhall and the new Astra is actually a lovely car to drive, albeit no XJ40

Fantastic, sounds an epic trip and really hope you enjoy your stay. I actually work for Vauxhall and the new Astra is actually lovely to drive, and made in Britain too, albeit no XJ40

Your welcome Pim, it's one of my most treasured books. Certainly was worth all the effort to see such a wonderful achievement and to see the boot that it has brought along with it, and will do for a long time to come, the book is history. :-) And absolutely the members were such a huge part of it but it was you pair that brought the project to life and carried it through to fruition.

Kind Regards

We for sure look forward to it. I bet we get a Hyundai or Peugeot instead of the Astra, but they will do the job of transportation as well. I will sit in the hibernating XJ-S or take a drive in the XJ40 when we come home to compensate for the experience 8-)
We stay 2 days in Edinburgh, one day at a not yet fixed place somewhere near to/north of Stirling and then the last night at Dunkeld House. They have quite nice seasonal offers including diner, bed and the full scottish breakfast for around 60£ pp.
