That looks really tidy for an Early car. And fish tanks without any corrosion on the reflectors? A rare sight.

Almost counts as a 'spotted today':

about 0:10 in, could only be a 40, can't make out the reg but has externally mounted fogs and fishtanks, more than likely a wet floor!

There's a gorgeous F reg 40 in BRG that I see driven regularly by an elderly gent in Alloa, looks amazing and you kinda get the vibe he's probably had it from new or a very long time. I'd love to be able to flag him down for a chat. Thought my luck was in the other day when I pulled into the petrol station and there it was but by the time I'd clambered out the car it was just pulling out the forecourt.

At least the rear right indicator needs fixing, mostly burnt out or covered in dirt from the inside :)

XJ40 in a promotional video not getting smashed up? That's unusual.

Yes they do :)
Looked at its MOT history, this car is low mileage, 77k, was off road for 6-7 years until recently. Looked good, just small things here and there clearly, indicator was mentioned on the MOT ages ago, should have been an MOT fail for sure, so clearly a 'friendly' MOT tester...
