drifting

dont no if anyone is interested in this but thought i would post it as it's the reason for my lack of post for abit, plus the saleing out of my xj40s and parts. i have been wanted to drift for along time and the start of this year i finally managed to start. Started of by buying a crashed e36 323 witch i straightened to a point, and then did my first drift day after that i was hooked. yes the car was a pile but i thought it was the best thing going, even tho it was so rotten there was a 10 mph road sign pop riveted to the floor. to stop mud water from the track covering the back of the bucket seat and me on my third drift day i managed to cook the poor old thing with the rot on the shell it was striped and scraped. i still miss the old thing but i'll be back in a e36 soon. the cars spec was

1998 323 170bhp
engine and gearbox stock m52b25 with getrag 240 with only 1-3 working and no reverse
fc racing coilovers as low as i could go with them
2.93 welded diff
hydro hand brake
sparco bucket seat
cut and welded front hubs for more lock



best car i have ever owned was kim funny story behind the name but its not very appropriate for a public forum

after that i got offered a cheap e46 that did not go well and the car was parted again after i managed to kill it
which was a shame and looking back i really should have just fixed it.

that brings me on to my current drift car my lexus. i got this for 100 pound as a mot fail and a cat c, i saw a drift day i wanted to go on so after a bit of prep the lexus was ready. i went up to driftland did a clutch kick and this occurred


at this point after shouting every single swear word at myself i just thought of giving in but a load of people i have got to know gave a load of help got the car fixed and i did the rest of the day and the car was awesome went well enough. for what it is im drifting again on the 20th of july. i'll leave you with some pics of me friends drifting witch are all better than me !

Hi Jack,

Good to see you’re still around cars in some way.

No ‘40’s left all now?

I have a mate who was doing very well in the drifting scene, he was in competitions and coming 2nd and 3rd against the big names.

Very impressive to watch and huge amounts of skill involved in controlling the car well.

i still have my 91 daimler witch i'm working towards geting back on the road and my dad still has 2 so im still very much involved in them just not as much as i was. was your mate doing the bdc? i'm just geting the ropes of it at the moment but plan to be around it a long time so hopefully with time my driving will improve
