Looked at its MOT history, this car is low mileage, 77k, was off road for 6-7 years until recently. Looked good, just small things here and there clearly, indicator was mentioned on the MOT ages ago, should have been an MOT fail for sure, so clearly a 'friendly' MOT tester...

Originally registered as "950 R", Car 575878, a Manual 2.9, its been up for sale 5 times since January 2017, last seen as for sale in Brewood on 03/08/2018 for a starting bid if £400.00. The auction ended with no bids. Good to see it looks to have found a home and is being used.

Derek..

Not the correct registration number, or at least it is not on the DVLA MOT or road tax database. Perhaps just for filming?

I have that car on the Register. That was the cars correct registration number and relates to car 647159, which has recently been placed on to Registration number UAZ 337. They must have changed it straight after filming. Standard XJ6 3.2 Auto, built on 18/04/1991 with Optional Sunroof specified.

I actually spotted one today (first time for ages) didn't get the reg but it was green and going over the bridge over the River Neen (Towcester Road) heading out of Northampton - nice to see one again!
The only reason people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory!

There is a Netflix series call Continuum. It's a bit sci fi. In the first (maybe second) episode there is a light blue XJ40 that makes a cameo appearance before being riddled with bullets.

Drove 800 miles over the last 24 hours through Sweden, some of which was quite snowy (luckily I just invested in brand new Vredestein M+S tires) ... And the car ran like a dream! There’s no better car to cruise long distances in. So comfortable, quiet, plenty of torque for overtaking. Averaged just a touch above 10 liters per 100 km, mainly on cruise control doing 90-110 km/h.

Before hitting the garage last night, I hosed it down properly to remover dirt and salt from the roads.
