So, its been a wee while and work has slowed a fraction this week on the car. Until now! The parts gathered up for blasting have met the machine, and received their first coat of primer. I've taken them back home to put the bushes in, and as you can see the paint has suffered a fraction. As I say this is a thin primer coat, a second thickness coat should be on tomorrow.
Front subframe bushes were removed and new ones installed with a little gadget I've had for a couple of years and not used, just happened to need 3 mill taking off the larger dolly and it fits a '40 bush perfectly.
So back to the paint room for more primer and hopefully start seeing black parts coming back next week. Subframe is already looking a bit more like it, quite chuffed with getting the bushes in it I thought I'd be asking a garage (read farther in law) to do that.
Think I mentioned before the bolts in threads are all being replaced, I just screw them back in to stop the threads being either shot blasted of filled with grit / paint.
May have kept myself right with this
I like this sort of progress, especially after a lot of taking things to bits it's good to see at least somthing going back together. It's another victory in the war on rust.
