if the boot lid is high , and you can confirm it hasn't been forced, then its fairly easy to rectify , you need to shim between the hinge and the car body ( to lower down the hinge ) this is easily accessed under the rear screen scuttle in the boot, you will see the two bolts holding the hinge to the body , undo and either slide in a shim , or remove the bolt and put a washer in between and put the bolt back in , this will have the effect of lowering the boot lid on whichever side you need to do
i doubt there are any shims on the boot lid side, and this will raise the lid even higher,,,
