Postby NMV 1E » Tue Mar 26, 2019 10:01 pm

As you may know I have a bit of a "passion" for the V.W. brand .... Seen this on ebay a few minutes ago ..... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-23-Window ... SwqaNclT2D ... Nope I'm not dreaming ... I wish, the vendor well ... :o ;)

Absolutely spot on, indeed ! And you can't go up ? Though, having now "slept on it" (properly) I'm wondering whether the decimal point might be in the wrong place ? Maybe :?:

Even if someone makes “a cheeky bid” at 2/3 the asking price, he is still laughing all the way to the bank. Or all the way back to Texas to buy another 10 of them.

Original sun bleached damaged paint? I guess that’s considered desirable now?

My boss has one of these, god it's an awful car but he still drives it in the summer, due to 'all the memories'. He gets to office a bit deaf but that apparently 'clears' within an hour

I do like the shape but if I had one, I'd redo interior/suspension straight away as this is undriveable in this day and age.

Haha! I'm not sure I'd be brave enough to attempt 60 with its brakes

I think it is cheap compared to what they have sold for. One sold in the USA about 18 months ok for $207,200 so he is on the money. Despite B——— there is no recession or lack of growth in the classic car game.

I spotted this a few years ago in Saltburn by the sea in the UK parked outside our hotel, I hasten to add that they were guests in the hotel and not roughing it in the VW. I had no wasps with me so I didn’t make him an offer worth mentioning.

I certainly have memories growing up with the these campers, hasn't compelled me to buy one, I was too taken by the jags my dad also kept. Still smile when i see one go by with that air cooled engine sound and rich petrol exhaust. I dont doubt he is serious about the asking price, labouring the originality a bit.
